The dance music scene of 2013 is one that can be described as 'Big, Fresh and Loud', thanks to the variety of music festivals that have been in place over the past few months, which have showcased the Biggest and Best Sounds of the year. This has given dance music a 'Festival/Big Room' sound.

This is a Top 10 list of the biggest festival sounds of the year... So far.



10. David Guetta & GLOWINTHEDARK Ft Harrison - Ain't a Party

'Ain't a Party' is a track that needs little to no introduction. This track was dropped by David Guetta at T in the Park 2013 and since then it has been an instant add on to everyone's mobile devices and has been placed in some of the biggest sets of the year.

9. Avicii Ft Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up

Avicii has smashed records and is continuing to smash the charts. Avicii's creativeness and enthusiasm really springs to enlightenment in this track. Aloe Blacc, most commonly known for    'I Need a Dollar’, is an artist that many thought was a 'one hit wonder'.

8. Yves V & Blasterjaxx - That Big

Who would've thought that applying Classical Strings to a festival production would have such a positive impact on creating fresh and vibrant works? Yves V & Blasterjaxx did, since this track’s release on Spinnin' Records in late August it has built a massively respected reputation.

7. Showtek Ft We Are Loud & Sonny Wilson – Booyah

Showtek, the Dutch brother duo, were labelled as being 'Hardstyle' artists. Once you hear Booyah it is easy to understand that they still hold onto their hardstyle roots, especially when it comes to the lead and drop section.

 6. Martin Garrix – Animals

At just 17, Martin Garrix has become one of the youngest in the dance scene to date. Once you hear the unforgettable talent of Garrix you will soon realise the potential this young artist has to develop; the choice of sounds used in the drop are second to none. The drop has a significant Marimba/Glockenspiel sound to it.

5. DVBBS & Borgeous – Tsunami

The track Tsunami is one that has been played and supported by some of the biggest names in dance, from Hardwell, Laidback Luke and Clockwork, that have been dropped at major festivals across the year. The drop from Tsunami was also used in the Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - 'Locked Out of Heaven' mash-up debuted at Tomorrowland 2013.

4. Alvaro & Mercer Ft Lil Jon - Welcome to the Jungle

Middle Eastern snake charming is only a few words used to describe the melody of this pre-summer stonker released on Hardwell's record company, 'Revealed Records'. This track was premiered at Ultra music festival in March during Hardwell's set.

3. Hardwell & Dyro ft Bright Lights - Never Say Goodbye

A man who has been storming the music dance scene since coming to light with the huge track 'Spaceman' is Hardwell, currently holding a number one on the Beatport charts with 'Countdown'. The vocal talent that is used in this track really brings to light the adaption of Hardwell.

2. DubVision – Rifler

This is another track that has been sitting in the top 10 which has outstanding string sections and an eccentrically uplifting melody section that develops to a heavy distorted electro effect drop with another uplifting riser, which then brings the track to a close. This track is well worth a listen. Scheduled for release November 18.

1. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs DVBBS & Borgeous – Stampede

The track was originally played as part of the Tomorrowland 2013 After Movie. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the official launch of the track, which drops November 18. Once you hear stampede you will instantly recognize that DVBBS & Borgeous have outshone themselves after the banger track that is Tsunami. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have taken the melody into a whole new dimension. This is one track that, before official release, has been plaguing DJ sets and festivals all across the world. This is one track that will receive massive attention on the official release to co-inside the collection of respect it has already amassed.
